This annual Chicago Halloween parade is ranked as one of the 10 Best Halloween Celebrations in the US by Fodor’s Travel Guide. The parade is highly recognized for its outlandish costumes, creative programming and an overall entertaining parade. Each year, the parade hosts a different theme, with this year’s theme being Scream, Queen! The route for the parade begins on North Halsted Street and goes from Belmont Avenue to Cornelia Avenue. All are welcome to march in the parade and online registration is now open. There will also be a costume contest so make sure you dress to impress! The Northalstead Halloween Parade takes place on Tuesday, October 31st at 7:30 p.m. so make sure you don’t miss out!

Logan Square also hosts one of the best annual Chicago Halloween parades. This Halloween parade takes place on Sunday, October 29th at 5:00 p.m. at Logan Square. This parade includes costumed kids and adults from all around marching down Kedzie Boulevard before looping back to Lula Cafe for hot cider and cookies. The parade begins at the Illinois Centennial Monument and participants are encouraged to bring instruments and noisemakers to use throughout the parade. This Chicago Halloween parade unites the city’s diverse creative community for an unforgettable nighttime parade. The Arts in the Dark parade brings together world-renowned institutions as well as artists in assorted fields to get Halloween started. Arts in the Dark took place on October 21st and was definitely something to witness. The family-friendly spectacle included live music, unique floats, giant puppets, and more! LUMA8 and eight creative directors led this Chicago Halloween parade as many watched the festivities take place on the streets of Columbus Dr. all the way until Monroe Street. This Chicago Halloween parade is for the animal lovers out there. Even though the parade already took place on Saturday, October 21st, it is definitely an event you want to keep in mind in case you want to showcase your dog’s creative costume next year. For two hours, dogs were allowed in the Chicago Botanic Garden to march and celebrate Halloween with their owners. Viewing for the dog parade was free, however, paid registration is required for dogs whether or not they enter the parade or costume contest. The parade also included nonprofits and vendors from a variety of local pet supply stores sharing information and selling dog-related products.
