Fourth of July in Glen Ellyn: The festivities never seem to end when you spend your day at Glen Ellyn. This Chicago July 4th celebration will kick off with the Freedom Four Four-Mile Run at 8 a.m. The run is presented by the Glen Ellyn Park District and is the biggest event of the running season! This event helps the Park District with raising money for scholarships. After the run, the celebration doesn’t end. Glen Ellyn also hosts a Fourth of July parade at noon. The parade is perfect if you’re going to be traveling with kids. With music, floats, and marchers showing their American pride, the kids are going to love it!
Once the parade is over, there will be many different activities at Lake Ellyn Park to continue your Chicago July 4th celebration. For a small fee of $3, you will receive a wristband to join in on all of the fun. There will be an inflatable obstacle course, penny carnival games with tickets to redeem prizes, live music, and even face painting! Concessions will also be available for purchase.
